Instead of staying in politics, he spent two decades traveling, teaching, and working in creative fields, learning what makes communities thrive—and what holds them back.A writer, musician, and filmmaker, Jon’s career spans newspapers, music composition, and storytelling, capturing the American experience. He has worked in schools and universities, helping young people develop skills in music, storytelling, and video production. His passion for education, creativity, and self-sufficiency is the driving force behind his vision for Colorado’s future.Jon also has real-world survival experience. In 2014, he appeared on Discovery Channel’s Tethered, surviving two weeks in the jungles of Panama while chained to a Navy veteran.
