Jon Collamer – Independent Leadership for Colorado. Jon Collamer is not a career politician—he’s a problem solver, storyteller, and leader who understands the spirit of liberty and self-reliance that defines Colorado.
At just 18, Collamer ran for Public Utility Commissioner in Bellingham, Washington, proving early on that he wasn’t afraid to challenge the system. Instead of pursuing politics as a career, he spent the next two decades traveling, teaching, and working in creative industries—learning firsthand what makes communities thrive and what holds them back.
A writer, musician, and filmmaker, Collamer has written for newspapers, composed music, and produced stories that capture the American experience. He has worked in high schools, universities, and media production, helping young people develop skills in music, storytelling, and video production. His passion for education, creativity, and self-sufficiency is at the heart of his vision for Colorado.
He also has real-world survival experience. In 2014, Collamer appeared on Discovery Channel’s survival show Tethered, where he was chained to a Navy veteran in the jungles of Panama for two weeks, surviving off the land. This experience reinforced his belief in resilience, adaptability, and the power of human connection.

Collamer believes Colorado can be a national leader in efficiency, innovation, and economic freedom. He is committed to:
• Modernizing government by eliminating bureaucratic waste and streamlining healthcare, housing, and public services through secure, cutting-edge digital systems.
• Expanding Colorado’s leadership in cryptocurrency and blockchain to improve public transparency, reduce financial inefficiencies, and empower small businesses.
• Protecting Colorado’s land, water, and natural resources while ensuring ranchers, farmers, and conservationists work together for a sustainable future.
• Implementing Proposition 122, ensuring veterans and those suffering from PTSD, addiction, and mental health struggles have immediate access to plant-based medicine.
• Reducing government overreach while prioritizing individual liberty, personal health choices, and economic independence.

Collamer is an outdoorsman, an adventurer, and a firm believer in self-reliance. He enjoys horseback riding, snowboarding, archery, hiking, river rafting, and camping. He is also a lifelong student of literature, history, philosophy, and spirituality.
Most of all, he believes in the character of Colorado—its independent thinkers, hard workers, and pioneers—and that the government should work for the people, not the other way around.
